My writing stems from 2001 and a major loss to my life. I got deeply philosophical, and highly creative, feeling inspired by an essay by Estrella Diego, entitled: ‘Going Without the Exotic’. The essay explains a philosophical slant on Gulliver’s Travels: not accepting his found possessions as useful curios, in order to accept his own exoticism in the light of those seen as the only ones to be so, by the traditional dominance of the Western philosophical dream, hence the title; by the Cesar Manrique Foundation, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. I had just come from Tenerife and I was able to visit Lanzarote, which became my favourite island in the World, in 2002, where I met a Swiss friend; and then suffered the distance of unfortunate ill health in my father, who had a life-threatening dilemma, but who thankfully survived.

I made a number of books of right-on’s, in the vain of a favourite song at the time, covered by: ‘The Roots’, to understand: truths, poetry, philosophy and creative prose. (Newsom, Joanna, 2004, ‘Right-on’s’) I plan to publish this book in the future. I concluded at the turn of the Millennium, in the Year 2000, we should vote for the exotic, and similarly return our treasure to its origins, by celebrating black culture since the Civil Rights movement, and the continuum of music, when I will always remember listening to Roy Ayers in Cardiff, at University:

I continued to pursue Architecture, at the time, highly stressed by my environment and therefore began writing, as a pastime and followed this with an exploration into creative art and drawing. I wrote my first serious batch of poems in 2014, which I will also publish in the future, to inspire those with less fortunate circumstances. I later pursued a Masters in Creative and Critical Writing at the University of Winchester: completed in 2017. I am also a qualified Architect, from the Welsh School of Architecture, at Cardiff University, qualifying in 2010. I have lived in, England, Wales & Spain. I have explored most continents in the World, and more specifically the following: North & South America, India, Africa, Europe, Scandinavia, & the country of Switzerland, and I have many others yet to discover. I am an Architect / Christian / Musician / Poet / Artist / Writer / Orator / Reader / Photographer / Traveller/ Entrepreneur & Socialite. Later, I plan to develop my skills in carpentry and discover the world of acting and directing films, as a precursor to my evolving theories of creative language & architectural space.

I am Andrew, aka Florian.
